City of Prince Rupert outlines it's operations plan for Holiday season


While for the most part they have been asking residents to stay away from City Hall in recent weeks as part of their COVID response, come the holiday period access to City Hall and civic officials will be even harder to achieve. 

That with much of the City's operations shutting down and facilities closed to the public as the City enters its holiday operational period.

The Holiday Closure listings include City Hall, the Recreation Complex, Library, Landfill site and Operations/Public Works Department.

City Hall
December 23rd -- January 1st Closed
January 4 reopens @ 930AM

Recreation Complex
December 24 all facilities close @ Noon
December 25-28 All Facilities Closed

December 29-30 Regular Hours
December 31 -- All Facilities Close @ Noon
January 1 -- All Facilities Closed

January 2nd  -- Regular Hours

Prince Rupert Library
December 24 -- Open 10AM-12:30 PM
December 25-28 -- Library Closed
December 29-30 -- Open 10AM-4:30 PM
December 31st -- Open 10 AM -12:30 PM
January 1 -- Library Closed

January 2 -- Saturday Schedule 1-4:30 PM
January 4 -- Return to regular hours

Ridley Island Landfill Site
December 24 -- 8:30 AM-Noon
December 25-27 -- Closed

December 28-30 -- 8:30 AM-4:45 PM
December 31 -- 8:30 AM - Noon
January 1 -- Closed
January 2 -- 10 AM to 3:45 PM

January 4 -- Regular Schedule resumes

(The City notes that should you require emergency service from Public Works and Operations call the 24 hour emergency line at 250-624-3000)

All payments to City Hall due on December 31st will be accepted up to and including January 4th at 4:30 with no penalty.

As well, should Prince Rupert see some winter weather during the holiday period, a reminder on the City's Snow Removal and Ice Control requirements of local property owners.
