Fleet Maintenance the latest focus for City of Prince Rupert job opportunities

Keeping the vehicles of the city's Operations Department makes for the latest job postings from the City of Prince Rupert, with a new listing for Mechanic posted recently.

The 40 hour a week full time position comes with a $39.92 an hour pay rate along with benefits.

The position reports to Operations Management with the successful candidate to be employed in the City's Heavy Duty/Automotive Mechanical Shop working on the maintenance, and repairs of all categories of Municipal vehicles and equipment. 

The applicant must possess a valid B.C. Trades Certificate in Heavy Duty Mechanics, Commercial Transport or Automotive Mechanics. Applications will also be considered for a 3rd or 4th year Apprentice. 

If successful, the rate of pay will be determined based on the Collective Agreement. Other duties may be assigned as required. The successful applicant must meet the physical demands of the position, and comply with safe work practices. The ability to work in a team and independently is among some of the attributes that is required. 

The deadline for applications is May 20th.
