Promotion Day at the Prince Rupert Fire Hall, as Dylan Sidoni moves to Captain's duties

It's been a busy year of personnel change at the Prince Rupert Fire Hall, with retirements, recruitment calls and new career opportunities making for much of the flow in between fire calls for the Fire Service in recent months.

Today it's a promotion announcement, with long serving Prince Rupert Firefighter Dylan Sidoni promoted to the position of Fire Captain, the news shared through the PRFD Facebook page on Friday morning.

The shift in responsibilities for the new Captain,  comes after a week of recognition for the Fire fighters of Prince Rupert, Port Edward and surrounding communities, all celebrated for their dedication to community on May 4th as part of International Firefighters Day.

You can explore the PRFD Facebook page here to share your congratulations on the promotion or to leave other comments for the city's fire fighters.
