Despite some legislation and lots of talk, BC is still time Changing ... and tonight's the night for the ritual

British Columbia's Legislature may have said to Captain Horgan "Make It So Johnny" but alas, John Horgan can only do so much, and with our American neighbours still a tad recalcitrant at providing for their own legislation, North Americans in most locations (not you Saskatchewan, nor you Yukon residents) will move the clocks ahead one hour tonight.

The Premier faced the music on the stalled nature of his legislation at his press conference on Friday, explaining how the time change issue is caught up in some American politics, with Congressional approval required, something still hard to achieve it would seem.

The reasons for British Columbia not going it alone despite their own work on the file in October of 2019, is mostly tied into the shared economic impact and community ties from North to South on the Pacific Coast.

Though the quest to rid us of the need for the time change has not been a case of a lack of trying, with the Premier even noting of British Columbia's Ryan Reyonlds showing his support for Just One Time continuum that through the video below.

So while the politicians below the 49th and to our Northwest in Alaska continue to sort it all out, we take to our clocks overnight, whether before you go to bed or at 2AM when all your digital devices will do the work for you.

The annual time change exercise is also an opportunity to ensure that you have fresh batteries in any of your home based detectors and alarms.

For those that like a bit of research to go with their time change, National Geographic offers up a helpful guide to the history of Daylight Saving Time.

Try not to lose too much sleep over tonight's responsibilities ...

While we lose an hours sleep as we rise on Sunday, we'll get it back in the fall.
