A request from November of 2022 by Pacific Northern Gas seeking approval towards two elements of Rates management is now in the midst of a public feedback period.
The request by PNG is seeking approval to increase the basic charges and delivery rates for 2023 and to decrease the Revenue Stabilization Adjustment Mechanism rate rider, on a interim and refundable/recoverable basis.
PNG is also seeking approval to establish rate adjustment riders to refund the difference between 2022 interim and final rates.
The BCUC approved these rates and rate riders on a interim and refundable basis, which was effective as of January 1st of this year.
As the BCUC outlines it, for Natural Gas customers the average annual residential bill impact of the combined changes will make for an increase of $5 or roughly 0.5%.
The average annual small commercial bill impact of the combined charges is a net decrease of approximately $40 or 1.1%.

There are two important Dates towards the process:
Friday, February 3rd brings the deadline to register as an intervener with the BCUC
Tuesday, April 4th, is the deadline for interveners to file the first information request to PNG.
