City of Prince Rupert looks to furnish new RCMP detachment offices

With the outside shell complete and work underway on the interiors of the new RCMP detachment at McBride and Third Avenue East, the City of Prince Rupert is turning some attention towards how the offices will look and what will be inside of them.

A Bid from the City posted to the Bid BC Website on Tuesday, outlines what it is that civic officials are looking for when it comes to filling the two floors of the new detachment building.

The listings make for something out of an Ikea tour, with desks, office chairs, couches and such all part of the call for proposals:

Though unlike your past Ikea experiences perhaps, installation and assembly is required as part of the Bid package.

The Bid Call comes to a close on February 6th, with delivery and installation to be completed by the end of May.

The Bid package also offers up a first glimpse of the floor plan for the expansive space just south of the Prince Rupert Court House.

The City has not as of yet announced a move in date for the local members of the RCMP, though with furniture to be in place by the end of May, it would appear that the Mounties will be checking out their new space just as the summer arrives.
