With Cariboo teams in town, Rampage eye return to first in CIHL come wrap to weekend play

Quiet for now, Rampage fans will bring the noise to the McBride Street Rink
with two games this weekend

With a return to the win column for January mission accomplished last Saturday, the Prince Rupert Rampage will be looking to carry forward with that momentum as a pair of twin challenges arrive from the Cariboo.

The Madhouse on McBride will be at full throttle tomorrow evening at 7PM  as the Rhinos take on the visiting Williams Lake Stampeders, always a popular draw and a competitive match up on the ice.

The weekend play continues on Sunday as the defending CIHL champion Quesnel Kangaroos head for the Jim for an afternoon showdown with the home side.

The two Cariboo teams also have Terrace stops on their weekend travels, with Quesnel there on Saturday and Williams Lake the visitors on Sunday.

With all that action on the scoreboard, there could be some changes atop the CIHL Standings by the time play wraps on Sunday afternoon.

Terrace, Hazelton and Williams Lake all have a share of First Place overall in the CIHL, each with 20 points so far in the 2023-24 campaign.

The Rampage are just one point behind the pack.

Hazelton host the Nechako North Stars on Saturday, the Nechko side plays Smithers on Sunday.

The weekend of play also should see some movement in the Scoring race, a CIHL competition that has Judd Repole just off the pace of league leading Tanner Wort in the listings.

As they do for every home game the Rampage have called up some talent from the PRMHA, with Oaklen Nadeau set to hit the ice with the Rhinos at 7PM Saturday night.

When the Rampage announce the call up for The Sunday afternoon match up at 1PM, we'll add the updated to this post.

The Two home games also make for more momentum ahead for the Rampage Fights Cancer campaign,  with Rampage officials noting of the progress for the well received community initiative this week.

This past week has been another strong one of support from community partners, with the Rampage listing off the impressive list of contributions through their social media stream.
