An adventure ski enterprise based in Terrace suffered a tragic incident late Monday afternoon, with a helicopter with Northern Escape Heli-Skiing crashing near Rosswood north of Terrace.
A large response from Emergency personnel descended on the crash site and upon arrival found three people dead, with four injured, now listed as in critical condition.
In addition to Terrace area emergency responders, crews from CFB Comox were dispatched to the scene by the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Victoria.
The company issued a statement on Monday, confirming the deaths of three and expressed their condolences the family and friends of those who have passed away and were injured from the incident.
They note of the rare occurrences of tragic events such as Monday's, as well as the range of safety precautions they put in place for their travels.
The statement also notes that they have contacted the HeliCat Canada Critical Incident Stress Management Team which will be deployed in support of those involved in the incident.
Northern Escape officials are also working closely with the RCMP and other authorities towards the investigation now underway.

The incident generated a Code Orange Response for Mills Memorial Hospital, with Northern Health providing an update later on Monday evening as to their efforts towards the situation.

To this point there have been no details towards the incident released by the RCMP out of Terrace.

The Canadian Transportation Safety Board has not as of yet indicated when they will commence their investigation into the crash.
The Terrace based company is promoted as a Recreation Destination, with the focus of their packages directed towards guests from across North America and around the world.
