North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice has charted her course west this week, with stops in a number of Haida Gwaii Communities on the travel agenda as she checks in with constituents around the islands.
The tour begins this afternoon with a stop in Daajing Giids, Wednesday sees Ms. Rice continue across the archipelago with four community meet and greets to come before Thursday evening.
One item likely to be a topic for the MLA and Parliamentary Secretary for Rural health will be that of Health care, with the Islands having seen more than a few health care challenges over the recent holidays.
That through a number of Emergency Room closures impacting on residents, a situation which continued on just as Ms. Rice was preparing for her departure from Prince Rupert.
Transportation on and off the Islands may be a topic of note for the coffee and snack get togethers as well; that was a theme that was noted on the MLA's Social media page as she outlined her travel plans last week.
For the MLA some of her talking points of late were noted on Friday as she released her latest constituency newsletter.
The main focus for that correspondence was how the NDP government is approaching housing, the MLA noting of some recent funding for Haida Gwaii on that theme.
