Cold weather brings new waterline break, this one on city's east side at Seal Cove Circle

The City of Prince Rupert is asking motorists to avoid entry 
into the area of Seal Cove Circle, that as work crews
take on a water line break reported in the early hours of Friday

With the Arctic air arriving and lingering over the last few days, the stresses to the city's waterlines are once again making some news, with the City advising of a major water repair program now underway on the city's east side, that as City workers work through the frigid conditions to effect repairs.

The city notes that the call for repair came in earlier this morning, with a 2 AM call out taking place.

The temperature overnight was noted as at  -9 and feeling as though below minus -23 owing to the windchill 


The cold conditions are set to remain with us through Saturday, easing a bit on. Sunday, with some relief anticipated by the start of next week.
