Port Hardy Lifeboat station crew hailed for rescue this week in challenging conditions

were called to action this past week, taking to the 
waters in a rescue off the coast of Northern Vancouver Island

The Canadian Coast Guard's Lifeboat Station program once again came to the rescue this week, with the Coast Guard noting of the successful rescue of four mariners off the coast of Port Hardy on Wednesday, a rescue mission made difficult  owing to the extreme weather conditions on the BC coast this past week.

In update through the social media platform X (formerly twitter) the Coast Guard outlines the details of the Wednesday night work of the crew.

The Coast Guard members and the crew of nearby commercial vessel MV Coastal Server providing for some teamwork to deliver a most welcome rescue of the four mariners in the frigid waters that night.

Once brought back to shore, the four mariners were transferred over to BC EHS for transport to the area hospital.

In addition to the Coast Guard Facilities in Prince Rupert and Port Hardy, the Coast Guard has expanded on their lifeboat program.  

With stations now in place in a number of Coastal Indigenous communities a number of them on the North and Central Coast.
