Blog Watching: Week ending January 14, 2024

It having been a City Council week, one which featured the first session for the Prince Rupert collective for 2024, a large volume of the list of five explores some of the themes coming out of the Monday Council session.

Though the item which captured the most attention on the week was Federal and  the announcement that Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre will be coming to town later this month, hosting an Axe the Tax rally at the Lester Centre.

The work of the city's RCMP detachment also gained some interest, that following their announcement that an arrest had been made related to a number of thefts in recent days.

However in a week of municipal themes, it was something from the Federal scene that makes for our top story of the five, with the Skeena Bulkley Valley Conservatives looking forward to a Prince Rupert visit from Conservative Leader Pierre Polievre.
