RCMP across Northwest BC search for two suspects in brazen Terrace truck jacking and assault

Members of the RCMP across the region are seeking the help of the public for information in relation to a serious crime in the Thornhill area near Terrace on Thursday, which saw two male suspects take a truck at gunpoint from a Terrace area resident.

As the Terrace RCMP file details it,  the situation took place in the Desjardins Avenue area of Thornhill around 6:10 PM on Thursday evening and left the truck owner suffering injuries as a result of an alleged assault during the course of the violent incident.

Five minutes earlier, reports came in of an armed man trying to enter a nearby residence on Hagen Street in Thornhill, Terrace RCMP have not said yet if they believe the two incidents are related.

A white car  which was seen in the area immediately before the incidents is also of interest to the Terrace Mounties.

RCMP Inspector Jayson Lucash outlined the strong response that the Terrace detachment has called into action on the file, while looking to reassure the community as well in the wake of the violence of the incident..

Officers are working to get to the bottom of this and find those responsible,Terrace is a still a small, tight-knit community. Historically, this kind of activity, an armed robbery of a vehicle, is rare. We’re asking residents to be diligent in their neighbourhoods. If you see a vehicle that looks suspicious, if unusual activity starts creeping up, call police.

Terrace RCMP have released surveillance camera photos of the two individuals of interest from the assault and truck theft file, along with their descriptions.



Suspect One
Male Age of 20 to 30
Slim build and approximately 6 feet in height
He was last seen wearing a hoodie


Suspect Two
Also a Male is a bit heavier than Suspect One
He was also wearing a hoodie.

From the attempted Home invasion file, the suspect is described as a white male, early to mid twenties. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black Helly Hansen jacket, with jeans and a ball cap.

In an update from Friday, the Terrace detachment advised that the truck had been located in the Terrace area late Friday morning, it was seized by police to be examined by the Terrace RCMP Forensic Identification Unit as part of the investigation.
