Final push towards playoff time starts this weekend as Rampage return to action

It's been thirty five days since the Prince Rupert last skated out onto a CIHL ice surface, with the Rampage last in action on December 15th when they were on the short side of a 4-3 Overtime match up with the Terrace River Kings.

With Christmas and New Years now well in the rear view mirror, the Rupert squad will shake off the rust tonight when they travel to Kitimat to take on the Ice Demons with an 8PM puck drop at Tamitik.

The trek into the Aluminum city tonight will be the last out of town journey for Rampage for the regular season .

Tomorrow night, the Rampage will host the first of three home dates to bring the 2018-19 season to a close, with Northwest rivals the Terrace River Kings the opposition at the Jim with game time set for 7PM.

Since they put the skates away for a bit on December 15th the Standings have not changed much, with Williams Lake Stampeders and Quesnel  Kangaroos sharing the top spot at 20 points each, with the Rampage but three points of their pace and with two games in hand.

The Rampage will put the wrap on the Regular season next week, when Quesnel and Williams Lake come to town on Saturday and Sunday.

Even with a month long absence, two Rampage skaters are still found among the CIHL scoring leaders.

Judd Repole and Jared Meers both hold spots in the top ten listings heading towards the final week of the season.

For Repole the final four games offer up a chance to close the five point gap between him and leading scorer Alessio Tomassetti who heading into this weekend, has 27 points compared to the Rampage snipers 22.

An added bonus for the Rupert player, with two games in hand he has some room to make a move before the season wraps on the 26th.

As part of their home date for Saturday, the Rampage have once again called up a skater from the Prince Rupert Minor Hockey Association, with Jonah Stacey set to join the line up.
