Power bump knocks east side area off for forty five minutes

It was Lights Out for the east side for part of Tuesday morning

A small swath of the east side of the city found flickering lights and then darkness this morning with BC Hydro responding to an incident that took place at just after 9 AM.

All told the power was out from 9:16 to 10:01 AM and affected an area east of George Hills Way, including areas south of Overlook west of Immanuel and North of Prince Rupert Boulevard.

No explanation has been provided by BC Hydro to this point in relation to the morning outage.

However, indications from social media suggest that the outage was caused by an eagle coming into contact with BC Hydro infrastructure in the area.
