Northwest Hockey talent to watch for in 2019-20

From the time the first skates are pulled on, for many youngsters the dream is to play at as high a level as possible during their hockey journey.

And while many bring an end to their competitive hockey by the time their Midget days have wrapped up, others take the dream to the next stage

And across British Columbia and in some cases far beyond, players from the Northwest can be found in small and large communities which play temporary home for  some of the talented players that once took to the ice in arenas from Vanderhoof to Prince Rupert.

For North Coast hockey fans there are three names to keep track of through the 2019-20 junior season, with former Rupertites found at the Junior A and Junior B level.

Drew Fudger continues his on ice journey moving to the British Columbia Junior league with the Vernon Vipers, that after a few years of Major Midget play in Prince George.

Reid Lindsay a defenceman who continues to hold down the blue line for the Victoria Grizzlies of the BCHL this season.

One tier down from the BCHL, Lyndon Drummond takes to the ice with the Kerry Park Islanders.

Hockey fans around the rest of the Northwest have no shortage of players to watch the stats sheets for this season as well.

The largest volume of players from this region can be found playing in the Kootenay Junior League once again, followed by those playing in  the British Columbia Hockey League and Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League.

One player with Northwest roots, Kitimat's Justin Almeida has moved on to the pro.  Almeida who signed a deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins last year and now has been assigned to their American Hockey League farm club in Wilkes-Barnes/Scranton.

The list of Northwest players and links to all of the team stats pages can be found below:
