Prince Rupert's summer of paving moves into heart of the schedule

Caution is the guiding theme for those travelling around the
city with preparation for paving taking place in many
neighbourhoods around the city

As any driver around town can attest to, there's much in the way of progress underway when it comes to the 2021 City of Prince Rupert Paving program, with many areas of the city currently seeing either in the preparation for, or active paving underway as this years work continues into the busy month ahead of July.

Currently there are two streams of paving underway, one which features a return to the city from Kitimat based C and C construction which is taking care of some warranty work related to last years program.

Paving today on 11th Avenue East means detours for those
heading into and out of the area

As that work continues, this years contract award winner, Prince Rupert based Adventure Paving has also been busy chewing up the old pavement and laying down the newest in black top, with a fairly expansive list of locations noted on the City's To Do list for the year.

Adventure Paving was awarded the 2021 contract back in May and was quick to the city's streets by mid June tackling a number of areas in the most need of roadwork.

The roadwork was one of the items celebrated by City Council as part of the release of their Annual Report, with the city noting of 1 million dollars in funding towards the city's roads, much of it through funding as part of the City's share of the Federal Gas Tax.
