WIND WARNING continues for Haida Gwaii, North Coast -- WINTER STORM WARNING for Inland North Coast

 


It's been a day of travel delays and weather warnings for the North Coast and Haida Gwaii and that's a situation that will continue on into the overnight period and through Monday morning.

The WIND WARNING is for the North Coast and Haida Gwaii with winds from 90 km/h to 110 km/h anticipated through the night, they are expected to ease off as the morning approaches.

Rain accompanies the winds tonight , with 15mm anticipated this evening, with another 15 mm expected on Monday.

For Inland areas, the WINTER STORM WARNING makes for Heavy Snow and Freezing rain for Highway 16 which only recently reopened after a day long Closure owing to Avalanche work. 

The dangerous conditions are also being found in the cities of Terrace and Kitimat and surrounding region, though the evening is now expected to be a Freezing rain event.
