The fire propelled by strong winds resulted in arriving crews declaring the incident a three alarm call, with crews attacking the residential fire containing the incident within ten minutes of arrival.

Prince Rupert RCMP and the BC Ambulance service were also called to the scene; the latter to tend to the two occupants of the home who were able to get out, they were subsequently transported to hospital for evaluation.

Four fire apparatus were on scene by the time the fire was extinguished, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
