The Prince Rupert Rampage may have had a bit of lethargy to shake from their legs in the Saturday evening match up with the Nechako North Starts in For St. James, the home side having jumped to a three goal lead before the Rhino marksmen finally found the range.

In their first game since mid December, the Rampage finally got untracked midway through the second period, having spotted the North Stars the 3-0 lead for the first thirty minutes of play,

Judd Repole finally turning things around with the first of his two goals on the night at the 9:50 mark of the second frame, Repole's marker coming with an assist from Hunter Johnson.

It was a goal that energized his team mates who then went on a scoring spree for the next ten minutes of the second period.

Getting in on the scoring were Cole Atchison, with an assist from Justin Brand at 14.41, Marcus Atchison at 16:26, with helpers from Judd Repole and Cole Atchison.

Cole Atchison scored one of his own at 19:27 with Judd Repole and Marcus Atchison in on the play with assists.

The final goal to secure the 5-3 Rampage victory went to Repole with an unassisted marker at 18:35 of the final frame. That made for a four point night for the talented Rampage forward, adding to his totals for the quest for the CIHL scoring race.

Kieren Sharp gained the W in the nets, turning aside 34 of the 37 shots on the night.

The second period troubles for the North Starts made for a physical match as the game progressed with the Nechako team assessed 34 minutes of penally time on 9 infractions, while Rampage players sat out 18 minutes of game time on 5 infractions.

The full account of the night can be reviewed here.

For Rampage fans looking to get a look at how the team played on the road, the North Stars have posted the live stream of the Saturday night contest through their Facebook page.

The trip into the Nechako region was supposed to be the start of a two game road trip, however the plans for a Sunday match up with the Hazelton Wolverines waere called off, after the Hazleton team postponed the game,

No details were provided as to why the postponement was required, there are hopes to reschedule the game before the end of the regular season in the first week of February.

The Rampage will be back on the road this coming weekend, as they head for Terrace and another showdown with the River Kings with a puck drop at the Terrace Ice Arena set for 7PM.

The Rupert side face one more road trip following the Terrace game, with a trip to Kitimat on the 22nd.

The Rhinos return to Prince Rupert to wrap up the month at home, when Williams Lake and Quesnel chart a course for the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre for the end of January.
