Power outage impacts much of West Side Prince Rupert

Power has been out for a portion of the west side of Prince Rupert since
mid afternoon on Wednesday

Update: Power was restored to affected areas at 4:12 PM, BC Hydro attributed the outage to a tree that had fallen across their lines.

Residents for areas west of McBride and South of Park Avenue continue to wait for the power to return, that following a power outage which began at 2:36 this afternoon.

BC Hydro notes on their Power outage Page that 635 residents have been impacted by the outage in two separate locations on that side of the city.

Included in the area affected by the power outage is the Prince Rupert Civic Centre, with the city issuing it's own update with specific information related to that facility.



As noted the city plans to update Recreation Centre users as to the status of the facility as they learn more on the power outage.
