One more revision for the All Native Basketball Tournament, with dates changed once again

The planning for the 2022 All Native Basketball Tournament continues  to move forward following the announcement last week of a postponement of the event which had been scheduled for a February 13 start  this year.

The original rescheduling for March 27t , has now moved a bit further along the calendar, with organizers now shifting the start date once again, this time towards a tournament launch int he first week of April.

The latest update was posted to the ANBT Facebook page on Tuesday evening.

The latest change put in place to allow for those teams wishing to attend to have a bit of extra time to consider this options for the 2022 event.

The announcement is one which does seem to be creating for much discussion and once again some very different opinions. With a fair bit of the focus on whether the annual event should be moved even later in the year, or if it should even go forward at all during these times of increased concern over COVID.

You can review some of the debate here.

As it is, Tournament organizers have been struggling to regain some of the sponsorship of the past, and have indicated that they may have to find other sources of financial help towards the annual event, with the potential of applying for COVID-19 related provincial funding one area they area exploring.
