The City of Prince Rupert has issued a reminder for motorists looking for parking spots along Third Avenue West near the Ocean Centre, that there are a number of reserved places for parking marked directly in front of the Northern Health side of the downtown complex.

The spaces in place for the use if those that are at the Northern Health COVID testing facility.

There are also some changes to Recreation planning coming up this month, that as Northern Health returns to the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre for a mass COVID vaccination clinic program.

As we outlined last week, the Recreation Centre clinic will be providing vaccinations for all ages including 5-11 years of age, as well as a Drop in clinic for dose 1 and 2.

For those looking for a Dose 3 or a booster dose, you are still required to book an appointment.

As a result of the clinic, the Recreation Department has moved or suspended a number of programs for the period of January 23-31.

  1. There was a hearing at council to give Northern Health the parking temporarily. I believe that permit has expired. Council should follow correct procedure and renew at the next meeting.
