Overnight Fire brings Prince Rupert Fire Rescue to Prince Rupert Bottle Depot

Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue responded to a working fire this morning

Update: Prince Rupert RCMP have outlined some notes on the incident, noting that upon their arrival at the facility, there was evidence that a break and enter had taken place, with the fire considered suspicious in nature.

Members of the Prince Rupert Fire Department responded to an early morning fire call to the Prince Rupert Bottle Depot.

The call for assistance came in at 4:45 AM, that after smoke had been seen from the facility on Second Avenue West.  

Upon arrival the first engine company upgraded the call to a working fire, with fire crews making quick entry to knock the fire down.

No injuries were reported as part of the fire call.

at 8th Street location through the day

Prince Rupert RCMP have been on the scene since  firefighters departed, guarding the site while an investigation continues into the nature of the fire. 

The facility has remained closed as well, with no indication as to when it will be able  to reopen to the public.
