Environment Canada makes it official: Arctic Outflow Warning now in effect

Extreme Cold temperatures are on the way for much of the Northwest 
over the course of the next seven days

The Arctic crawl is officially underway as the cold air from the North begins its transit to the North Coast, with Environment Canada issuing an Arctic Outflow Warning late Tuesday afternoon.

The advisory noting of strong outflow winds and cold wind chills that  reach as low as minus 30 


The Arctic System will bring sunny skies until Saturday for Prince Rupert and the North Coast, but cold temperatures with highs of -10 and lows down to -15 during its week long stay.

Earlier today, Northern Health issued its own Cold Weather Alert, with notes related to Emergency Shelter accommodation and personal care in extreme weather.
