Ridley Island landfill site closed until further notice

The gates to the Ridley Island Landfill site will remain closed
today, the City of Prince Rupert citing unforeseen circumstances
as the cause for the closure

If you had plans to haul some material out to the Ridley Island Landfill site, you'll be holding on to them for a bit, that as the City of Prince Rupert makes note today that until further notice the City's landfill site has been closed to the Public.

Other than an advisory of ''unforeseen circumstances' there were no details outlined as to the reason for the closure; nor an indication as to how long 'until further notice' may be coming out of the one line notice posted to the city's information streams this morning.

The item posted to the City's Facebook page has already spurred on some conversation from the public towards the need for a bit more information towards the closure. 

Should the city come forward with more background that's the likely forum where residents will find answers, as well as an advisory as to when it will reopen.
