City of Prince Rupert seeks feedback on High Culture Cannabis retail application

Yesterday we made note of an application by The High Culture Shop Incorporated to seek approval from the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch for a Retail Cannabis Sales Licence for a proposed shop on Park Avenue.

As part of that application, the City of Prince Rupert is now seeking to determine the views of residents related to the application.

Towards that process, the city has now issued a call for comment on the application.

The deadline for participation in the comment process and to make a submission is 4 PM on January 24th.

Those with an interest in participating in that process are to address their submission to

Rory Mandryk,
Corporate Administrator
City of Prince Rupert
424 3rd Avenue West
Prince Rupert, BC
V8J 1l7

You can also submit your comment by email to cityhall@princerupert.ca

As part of the overview process, the City has posted the Trade licence application from The High Culture Shop to their website you can review it here.

  1. Why does the city need to seek the views of the residents of Prince Rupert? Is this a mandated part of the process? I would think that the approval should be based on the merits that they are meeting the requirements set by the Province (I am presuming the it is provincial not federal) and the bylaws of the city.
