The lines will hit the water in the early hours of December 27th as the North Coast fishing community heads out on the water to take part in the 24th Annual Marc (Dezi) Desautels Memorial Blue Knuckle Derby.
The popular day long event starts in the early hours at daylight with the catches hauled in until dusk in competition for a range of prizes to be awarded in the fund raising event that benefits both the Salvation Army and Loyal Order of the Moose.
Hosted by the Prince Rupert Lions Club the Weigh in for the Day takes place at the Moose Hall on Tuesday the 27th, from 5 until 6 PM, with Prizes awarded from 6 to 7 PM.
The entrance fee for this years event is 25 dollars
Prizes to be awarded include:
1st Prize -- $1,200 cash courtesy of Harbour Machining
2nd Prize -- $800 cash courtesy of Lighten Up Electric and R and R Rewinding
3rd Prize -- $500 cash courtesy of the Prince Rupert Port Authority
As well there will be a $1,000 cash Door Prize courtesy of Gateway Dental, as well as a chance to enter the raffle to win Return Tickets from Terrace to Vancouver courtesy of Central Mountain Air, the raffle tickets cost just ten dollars.
Ticket holders for the Door Prizes must be present during the draw to win their prize.
