Shames Mountain to host Soft Opening to Ski Season this weekend

Northwest Ski fans can start to celebrate and get their gear ready, Shames Mountain is ready to open the hills to Skiers and Snowboarders, though the early days will see a limited approach, with Big Bunny the first to be in operation.

The challenges of the elements have left the Shames Mountain Crew to work hard through the week to create snow for the Northwest ski runs, and they have had enough success that Shames announced it's Soft Opening for Saturday, December 17th.

For Day One the only ski lift that will in operation will be the Handle Tow on Big Bunny.

The Ticket Office, Panhandler Café, Galloway's Mountain Bar and the Renal Shop will all be in operation and the Shames staff have prepared a toboggan area for families to use during the trip to the Mountain.

According to the Shames Mountain information release, the opening of the rest of the mountain will take place as the snow arrives and conditions permit.

The Christmas Break Schedule of operations will see the Mountain open from December 17 to 24, snow permitting, with hours of operation from 9 AM to 3 PM.

They will be closed on Christmas Day, reopening for business and resuming the Christmas break schedule from December 26 to January 2nd.
