The Prince Rupert RCMP is seeking the assistance of the public as they continue with their investigation into a Thursday night armed robbery of the 11th Avenue Liquor store on the city's east side.
Members of the Prince Rupert detachment were dispatched to investigate the incident which took place at 9:15 PM, converging on the city's east side as part of their search for the suspect.
Video images released from the store's security cameras show the lone suspect brandishing a metal rod and threatening a staff member behind the till at the store. The 11th Avenue Liquor store is part of the building in the 1300 block which also hosts the Maverick Mart at Frederick and 11th.
Update: The Prince Rupert RCMP have provided some further background to the incident, noting that the suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and that there were no injuries to the lone clerk as a result of the incident.
Police are looking for a male suspect listed at between 5 foot 8, to 5 foot 10 in height, he was last seen wearing a unique jacket with the hoop pulled over the head and with the individual's face covered by a bandana.

A reward has been offered by the store owners for information related to the robbery.
A notice posted to the store's Facebook page provides more details related to that reward offer, as well as a range of photos of the suspect.
