Blog Watching: Week ending February 3, 2019

A Friday morning vehicle incident on the McBride Street bridge at the Civic centre gained the most attention  on the week, as readers reviewed our notes on the situation which resulted in re-routed traffic for a few hours as Police and Fire officials went about their work.

This was also a City Council week and Council stories claimed a significant amount of attention, with our look at a presentation from the Community for Clean Water leading the way.

Readers also found interest in our notes on a topic raised as part of the Committee of the Whole Public comment period, as a local resident raised questions about the city's cannabis planning,

Readers also took note of an eye catching notice that sent part of the Council work on Monday to behind closed doors.

School District 52 was also part of the news flow on the week, with District staff in Vancouver on a recruiting drive for positions in the Prince Rupert area.

However the top story of the week was found on the main roadway into the city, and a traffic incident on McBride Street.
