Prince Rupert, Terrace claim Top Fifty spots in latest Maclean's survey of Canadian communities

The good news continues to roll in for the Northwest when it comes to surveys of how we stack up with other communities across the nation, with the latest review from the National news magazine Maclean's pushing both Prince Rupert and Terrace into the top 50 of the 415 communities reviewed for 2019.

The Best Communities in Canada survey now posted to the Maclean's website charts a number of categories to determine the rankings, which for 2019 have placed Terrace in the Number 35 position nationwide, with Prince Rupert slightly back of its Northwest cousin at Number 46.

For Prince Rupert the three key elements which weighted well were the current tax burden on residents, commute time and general affordability which mostly comes from the housing market.

For Terrace, Affordability, Taxes and Amenities helped to push them towards the top of the list.
