Rampage fans will need a full tank of gas to follow the team on the road

Fans of the Prince Rupert Rampage will have to hit the road with the team, should they wish to keep tabs on their favourite CIHL team this season.

In past years, the CIHL had made for some of the community television programming through CityWest's Community Channels 10/310HD and their streaming feed through the communication company's Facebook page.

Last year, CityWest shifted away from its occasional broadcast of home games out of the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre to picking up the Rampage on trips to Terrace and Kitimat, a popular option that gave the Rhino fans a chance to keep up with the team as it took on their regional rivals.

The North Coast Review contacted City West on the theme of CIHL coverage for this year and was advised that to this point, CityWest has no plans for broadcasts of any CIHL regular season games, though there is some talk of potentially checking in around playoff time.

You can find any future updates on the CityWest scheduling plans through their Facebook portal.

So for now, Rampage fans will be packing the snacks and filling up the car, perhaps taking to convoy formation to chart courses to Terrace and Kitimat; or for the truly adventurous, treks further inland to check out the return of the CIHL to Smithers and Hazelton.

The latter offering up a chance for a first hand look at the newest sports arena in the Northwest.

Would be Rampage Road Warriors can hit the road for the first time this season in two weeks, that's when Prince Rupert takes to their first road game of eight on the year and a rendezvous with the Kitimat Ice Demons on October 18th.

Of more immediate interest, the Rampage host a hockey double header this weekend, with Quesnel in town Friday night for an 8PM puck drop, followed by a Saturday contest with Williams Lake which will start at 7PM at the Jim.
