With Shames Mountain having just received up to 80 cm of new snow over the weekend, ski and snowboard enthusiasts on the North Coast will no doubt be looking forward to this weekend when the Terrace area mountain reopens on January 9th.
And with the new snow and a New Year, getting there may be just a little bit easier with a new service introduced to Prince Rupert to help bring the mountains of the Shames Ski facility a little closer to the North Coast.
That with Prince Rupert based SG Shuttle having recently outlined its shuttle bus service between Shames and Prince Rupert.
The transportation service offers $50 dollar a day return service, or $95 with the inclusion of a full day lift ticket. There are few details available so far as to the times of departure or frequency of the service.
The Ski shuttle service is still apparently a go, despite the temporary suspension of the SG Shuttle service between Prince Rupert and the Terrace Airport and Skeena Mall.
As we outlined on the blog over the holidays, that transportation option for Prince Rupert residents was listed as temporarily suspended over unspecified technical issues in late December.
SG Shuttle has since noted that they hope to have their regular twice a day runs between the two cities back on track well before the start of February.
