A strong Pacific weather system is making its way to Haida Gwaii and the North Coast today and tonight |
An intense frontal system is bearing down on Haida Gwaii and then the North Coast, with Environment Canada issuing the early alert of what's to come through a WIND WARNING put in place over the Noon Hour.
Ahead of the front, Strong Southeasterly Winds of 90 k/m will arrive, with potential gusts of 110 km/h
The Winds are expected to cross over the region in the late afternoon, with winds to diminish later this evening.
Following the wind, will come the Rain, with up to 35 mm of precipitation expected by Thursday, with Rain remaining in the forecast through the weekend ahead.
The same weather system has also generated a STORM WARNING for the marine environment, with Winds at times up to 50 knots expected in Hecate Strait this afternoon, diminishing overnight.
Seas will build to up to 4 metres at the height of the storm, subsiding overnight
