Taylor Bachrach to call for more active Federal role in Wet'suwet'en dispute
With Parliament now having resume in Ottawa, Skeena-Bulkley Valley NDP MP Taylor Bachrach is highlighting the current tensions in the Bulkley Valley as an item he will be raising in the House of Commons with the proceedings now underway in the national capital
Mr. Bachrach recently attended the Morice River area to listen to the Wet'suwet'en and Gitxsan chiefs that are in place at the Kilometre 27 mark of the Morice River Forest Road.
Through his Facebook page he has been providing a few comments through the month related to the ongoing dispute between the Wet'suwet'en Hereditary Chiefs and Coastal GasLink.
Earlier today, the Premier appointed Nathan Cullen, the recently retired Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP to serve as a liaison between the Province and the Wet'suwet'en Hereditary chiefs.
You can learn more about the issues in the Bulkley Valley from our Skeena-Stikine Legislature Archive page, as well as through our political Blog D'arcy McGee as part of our Victoria Viewpoints Archive.
