For the sledding fans of Prince Rupert ... Any Hill will Do!

Lax Kxeen elementary proved to be a popular destination
this weekend as the youth of Prince Rupert went sledding.

A sunny and crisp Sunday afternoon made for some perfect sledding weather for Prince Rupert youngsters (and few folks reliving their youth) as many headed out to their favourite sledding spot to test out their saucers, inner tubes, sleds or any other device to propel you down a hill.

A perennial favourite of the Prince Rupert Golf Course found a few Rupertites making the trek to the steepest of approaches to a fairway, while over on the east side of town the Hill at Lax Kxeen elementary also had its share of fun seekers hitting what was kind of a mogul run.

While the City of Prince Rupert workers kept the parking lot
of the Civic Centre clear on Sunday.
Not too far from the Recreation facility found Rupertites
heading off to the Golf Course to test the longest of the fairway runs.

And while the weather was great for sledding in Rupert, as we noted yesterday, those heading out of town for a trip to Shames in Terrace, or Hudson Bay Mountian near Smithers were kept off the slopes, with both ski facilities remaining closed on Sunday owing to dangerously cold temperatures.

The more moderate weather (compared to points east) for sledding in Prince Rupert will continue all week long, though taking to the areas's best hills should be done with the warmest of clothing, as the North Coast settles in for an extended Arctic Blast through to the weekend.
