Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue makes House calls ...

A member of PRFD installing a smoke
alarm for a Senior over the weekend
When they're not responding to Emergency Calls across the city, members of Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue are doing their part to help protect Seniors, providing for installation of new smoke alarms.

It's part of an ongoing program at the city's Fire Hall, with the Fire Department working hard to spread the word on their Smoke Alarm Program for Seniors.

The program was launched in 2018 when Pembina pipelines provided the funding towards the purchase of smoke detectors for seniors in the community.

The members of the department made note of the work over the weekend through the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Facebook page, reminding Rupertites that if they are a Senior, or know of one who would benefit from the program to give them a call at 250-627-1248

The Fire/Rescue Service has been providing a number of safety tips for residents through their newly launched social media stream, which you can review here.
