Just one case of COVID in Prince Rupert recorded over the last seven days; as Local Data continues to show strong trends on COVID across the Northwest

Another week of impressive results on reducing the
COVID curve across the entire Northwest region

Prince Rupert has  continued to show impressive results for its COVID situation, with the weekly data review from the BC CDC showing just one new cases of COVID reported in the community for the week of April 25-May 1.

The ongoing reduction of COVID cases comes following the community wide vaccination program of March and is also marked by the declaration of the end of outbreaks at both the Prince Rupert Regional Hospital and the Acropolis Manor Long Term Care Home.

There has also been a marked improvement across the Northwest particularly in the Terrace area which dropped from 29 cases two weeks ago to just 4 this week.

As for the rest of the Northwest, this week also provides good news of declines in case counts across the region.

Across the remainder of the Northwest, the cases reported from  April 25-May 1 were as follows.

Nechako -- 9
Kitimat --

Terrace -- 4
Smithers  -- 4
Burns Lake -- 3
Upper Skeena
-- 1

The Central Coast, Bella Coola Valley, Snow Country-Stikine-Telegraph, Nass, Upper Skeena and Haida Gwaii regions all have reported no cases this week from the data review.
