After a period of over one month, Northern Health has declared the Second COVID-19 outbreak at Acropolis Manor to now be over

in recognition of the loss of life from COVID-19 at Acropolis Manor

The most recent outbreak of COVID-19 at Prince Rupert's Long Term Care Facility, Acropolis Manor has been declared over, Northern Health making the announcement on Wednesday morning with a short statement. 

The outbreak, the second COVID-19 outbreak of the year for the facility was first declared on April 3rd, with five of the residents testing positive for the virus, one of whom sadly passed way last month.

The April outbreak did not see any cases recorded among the staff at the facility.


The previous outbreak was first recorded in January that  situation made for a tragic period of time for the community which saw sixteen residents of Acropolis Manor pass away, with a number of staff members also recorded as having been affected by the coronavirus. 

Thirty three residents and 24 staff had tested positive for COVID-19 during the three month period of concern at the time.

It had not been declared as over until the middle of March.
