Wind Warning Issued for North Coast, Haida Gwaii, Central Coast

shows the path that the approaching weather is taking 

An offshore frontal system is coming ashore later tonight, bringing with it strong winds of up to 90 km/h from the southeast.

The weather system generating a WIND WARNING this afternoon from Environment Canada, which issued its advisory at 3:52 this afternoon. The system is anticipated to have pass through the regions listed by Sunday morning.

With it will come some extensive periods of rain to follow up on this wet Saturday.

The Marine Weather likewise has brought an advisory with a STORM WARNING in effect for Hecate Strati, with wind increasing to 50 knots near midnight, diminishing through the day Sunday.

Follow the Environment Canada website for updates on the weather as the next few days move forward.

As well follow Drive BC when it comes to any road conditions for points east of the Port Edward turnoff.
