Prince Rupert Firefighters move to higher level of pre hospital care for residents

Emergency Medical training has been the focus for the
PRFD in recent weeks

It's exam week for members of the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Department, with firefighters taking part in provincial EMR licensing  examinations, following a few weeks of additional training opportunities.

The training was provided by the FireMedix Fire Academy which has been prepping the local fire department members for their exam week review.

You can get a look at what FireMedix offers for training from their website .

The additional training is part of the PRFD's shift towards providing for a higher level of care prior to transporting residents to hospital following emergency calls for service.

In many cases, the members of the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue department are the first on a scene or arrival at a home in the community and the additional training will serve them in addressing medical care when required.

You can catch up on some of the work of the Prince Rupert department from their Facebook page.
