Purchase of Replacement City work truck features trade in plan with a twist as part of RFP

The City of Prince Rupert is looking to make a deal, with their latest Request for Proposals looking to access a half ton replacement vehicle

But any wheeling and dealing on the purchase comes with a provision that any reply include consideration of a trade in of the City owned Chevy HHR, that vehicle familiar from community events, school visits and such.

The RFP posted to the BC Bid website on November 16th outlines the nature of their fleet procurement addition plan, which has the City looking for a new 2020 or 2021 Half Ton Series, Half Box 4x4, with seating for five and a preferred colour of white.

The RFP bid package notes that Trade in of existing 2006 Chevy HHR must be considered.

As for the Trade in, the 2006 Chevy HHR only has 18,593 kilometres of what was surely low intensity community policing use, with few in the way of high speed pursuits.

They're in a hurry to make a deal, with hopes of acquiring the new unit by December 1st.

Proposals must be received by the City by 2PM of November 23rd.

You can review the full RFP proposal from the BC Bid Website.
