District of Port Edward looks to add to roster of Volunteer Fire Department

Department is on the search to add
to their roster of volunteers
The District of Port Edward has issued the call for those who may be interested in serving on the District's Volunteer Fire Department to come forward, with the PEVFD currently looking for new members.

The Department offers training and equipment for those who can offer their time in service of the community, applicants must be 19 years of age or older and hold a clean drivers abstract, applicants will also have to be willing to have a criminal record check conducted.

The PEVFD which serves the local community also has responsibilities for response to industrial incidents in the area as well as coverage of the Highway 16 corridor from the District through to points beyond The Tyee overpass.

The Port Edward department's Mike McDowall used Social media this week to share word of  a Recruitment Day event this Saturday at the Fire Hall on Sunset Drive. 

With those interested in exploring the opportunities with the fire service to check things out from 10 AM to 2 PM.
