More strain on Emergency Care being felt by Prince Rupert Regional Hospital

Northern Health has issued another advisory related to Higher than usual patient volumes at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital, using their Prince Rupert specific Facebook page on Monday to alert residents to the ongoing strains being felt at the Summit Avenue Facility.

As a way of reducing the strain on the Emergency and Acute Care services, Northern Health is asking that those with less urgent care requirements make use of their primary care provider/family physician or the Northern Health Virtual Community Care Clinic (access that option here).

The high volume situation at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital has been a growing item of note in recent weeks, with the Hospital issuing a similar advisory back on November 8th.

The Hospital and Northern Health has not indicated what medical concerns have made for the bulk of rise of hospital usage during this month long period of high volume use.
