More adverse weather ahead has BC Ferries making changes to Prince Rupert-Haida Gwaii service

A six day delay faces the passengers who would have been
leaving Prince Rupert today, that as BC Ferries revises its schedule
owing to adverse weather for Hecate Strait


With more adverse weather brewing off the North Coast, BC Ferries has once again announced changes to their schedule, this time making for a six day gap in transit for passengers schedule for today's 2:30 PM sailing.

The Service Notice issued this morning advises that sailings out of Prince Rupert and Skidegate for today will now take place on a revised schedule set for November 17 and 18.

BC Ferries notes that all customers reserved on impacted sailings will be contacted regarding their bookings, and will be accommodated on the revised sailing times. 

As well the Ferry Corporation advises that all other sailings will depart as scheduled.

Today's schedule revision comes as a STORM WARNING has been put in place for the Hecate Strait, with winds of up to 55 knots today and seas building to 5 metres.

It has been a fall season of frequent service interruptions for the North Coast-Haida Gwaii service, that as a number of weather events have rolled through the region over the last two months.
