Driving Range opens today, but Prince Rupert Golf Club still has work to do on greens and fairways

Not quite ready for action yet, the winter has been harsh on
the Prince Rupert Golf Course, with work underway to
get it back in shape for the 2023 season

For Prince Rupert area Golfers looking to improve their swing, today is a big day, with the Prince Rupert Golf Course opening its Driving Range for the season, however if you're looking for a round of nine, or eighteen holes of golf over the Easter weekend you'll be out of luck.

In an update for members last week on the PRGC social media stream,  Golf Club officials noted that there is still much work to be done on the course before it can open for the public, and towards that ongoing effort,  the Club asking for the public to give the course a pass towards walking the area for now, that as they work to get the course ready for the 2023 season.

As they prepare for the season ahead, the Club is seeking out sponsors for their 2023 events noting of opportunities for both Men's and Ladie's Nights as well as their Junior Program.

Local golfers head into the Spring and summer with a new Pro on hand at the Club House, as we outlined in early March, Shawn Fagan has joined the Prince Rupert Club, bringing years of experience from Alberta and British Columbia golf courses with him.

Keep up with the latest notes from the Prince Rupert Golf Club from their Social Media stream.

We also keep up with golf across the Northwest from our archive page here.
