Both the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Department and the Port Edward Volunteer Fire/Rescue service have been taking advantage of milder temperatures to get in some training work with their teams.
The Prince Rupert department sharing some video of some late March work for firefighters who were working on their pump operations in the Roosevelt Park School area.
Twenty minutes down Highway 16, Port Edwards firefighters have also been working on their skills, with hose deployment the feature attraction from some shared video by the PEVFD.
The Port Edward Department has also awarded a community resident, Pat McKay, with an Emergency Awareness Preparation Kit, that for participating in their recent Emergency Preparation Awareness work.
Residents were asked to show Port Edward firefighters their home smoke alarm, or picture of a home fire extinguishers, participants were then entered in the draw for the Pack of Emergency supplies.
