The Big CityWest communications outage for Haida Gwaii residents will continue on this week, as the seemingly never ending string of marine systems off the shoreline continue to hold up repair work for the crews for CityWest.
The Prince Rupert based communication company first alerted residents of Haida Gwai to the state of their connection around Christmas and since that time they have been waiting since New Year's Eve for a break in the weather to continue with repairs to the fibre connection between the islands and the North Coast mainland.
Crews had a short window to get started on, taking to their repair duties on New Year's Eve, but the crew on hand had to suspend their work own to safety concerns.
The Forecast for today continues to host a Gale Warning set to hold through to Wednesday.
