Mid-day temblor rumbles along west coast of Vancouver Island fault line

The latest in a string of moderate quakes off shore of Vancouver Island
was recorded over the noon hour today


Yet another in a string of medium range earthquakes has been recorded off the coast of Vancouver Island, with a 4.5 magnitude quake reported 206 kilometres SW of Port Hardy.

The seismic event was recorded at 12:26 this afternoon with a depth of 11 kilometres.

No Tsunami warning was generated by the event.



It was located in much the same area as a number of other similar sized quakes that have been reported over the course of the last month.
